Photography Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in providing photo material for Horizon Air Magazine. As Horizon Air's monthly, complimentary inflight magazine, we are a travel, business and lifestyle publication. We have monthly enplanements of 420,000, with a print run averaging 35,000. We are a glossy four-color publication.
Our photographic interests lie specifically in places within Horizon Air's route system. The airline's territory is the Pacific Northwest. They fly to destinations in Montana, Oregon, Washington, Northern California, British Columbia including Calgary and Kelowna - as indicated on the travel map located in the back section of the magazine.
Our subjects cover a wide variety of topics, such as: lifestyle, nature, sports/adventure travel, arts and entertainment, and business. In both editorial and design, Horizon Air Magazine is an award-winning publication. We engage our readers with striking, high-quality photographs that characteristically possess sharp, clean, bright color, thoughtful composition and, very often, offer a sense of location.
Photographers wanting their work to be considered for publication are encouraged to submit edited stock lists and/or samples that reflect areas or topics that are relevant to Horizon Air Magazine's route system.
Photography submissions are requested by the Art Director, Nancy O'Connell, approximately six weeks before the magazine's issue date. A yearly editorial calendar determines the magazine's photographic needs, however images may not be submitted without consent of the Art Director.
We will not accept unsolicited artwork. Paradigm Communications Group assumes no responsibility for the return of unsolicited artwork.
We prefer receiving original color transparencies and slides, but high-quality first generation dupes are also accepted. Submissions are limited to 60 images. Our rates generally start at $150 for a quarter page inside while our cover rate is $400.
We do not pay research fees.
Thanks you again for your interest in Horizon Air Magazine.
